Built for Australian and NZ Barristers

Every minute billed.
Every invoice perfect.

LitiGauge is time-tracking and invoicing software made exclusively for barristers at the Australian and New Zealand Bar. Log time against matters, generate GST-compliant invoices, and push directly to Xero.

Built for the Bar

Everything a barrister needs. Nothing they don't.

Built from the ground up to be fast and accommodate the realities of chambers practice — hourly and daily rates, disbursements, file notes, fast time entry, extensive reports, and direct Xero integration.

Time entry that keeps up with you

Fast time entry. Log time mid-hearing on mobile, or on desktop. Keep track of hours recorded for the day on one screen.

Matter management

Record time entries, disbursements, and file notes. Set a budget for a matter and be notified if the budget is about to be exceeded when submitting time.

Custom costs agreements and invoices

Generate customisable invoices and costs agreements in two clicks.

Xero integration

Push invoices directly to Xero with a single click. Void or sync from Xero automatically. Your accounts and your practice management are aligned.

Reports that matter

Create comprehensive reports for monthly billings, WIP aging, debtors, receipts by firm, and more. Sortable, filterable, and exportable.

Security-first architecture

Support for two-factor authentication (TOTP) and passkeys (WebAuthn).

How it works

From brief to bank account without the friction.

01

Open a matter

Create a matter for each brief or advisory. Attach the instructing solicitor, rate type, and any notes. LitiGauge keeps every matter clean and separate.

02

Log time & disbursements

Add entries as you go — hourly, daily, or refresher rates. Stop leaking time and see how much time you have recorded for the day instantly.

03

Generate the invoice

Select the unbilled entries, click Generate. LitiGauge produces a properly-formatted barrister's invoice as a Word document using your letterhead template, with GST and sequential invoice numbers.

04

Push to Xero & get paid

Send the invoice to Xero in one click. Record payments as they arrive. Overdue invoices surface automatically in your debtors report.

All communication between your browser and LitiGauge is encrypted, the same standard used by banks and government portals. Your login session is protected against common web attacks.

Frequently asked

Questions from the Bar.

Do I need to be tech-savvy to use LitiGauge?

Not at all. LitiGauge is designed for sole practitioners at the Bar, not developers. If you can use a web browser, you can use LitiGauge. Setup takes about ten minutes, and there is no software to install — it runs entirely in your browser.

Do I need a Xero subscription?

No. Xero integration is optional. LitiGauge can time-track and generate invoices independent of Xero.

Can I use my own invoice template?

Yes. You upload a Word (.docx) template with your own letterhead, chambers address, and ABN. LitiGauge creates it with the matter details, time entries, disbursements, GST, and invoice number, ready to send.

Is my data backed up?

Yes. Your data is backed up daily.

What happens if I cancel my subscription?

You keep access until the end of your current billing period. Please contact us at hello@litigauge.com before cancelling and we will assist you with retaining any records you need.

What about my existing data?
